Oddly enough, Corey and I grew up only 10 minutes apart from one another, and even went to the same high school for a year, and had many mutual friends all through high school, but our paths did not cross until we were introduced by our roommates in college at NC State. We are definitely the perfect example of opposites attracting. Corey is extremely smart, very technical, stubborn, in no way artsy, and athletic. I am quiet, patient, totally into music and art, and the least athletic person you will ever meet. However, we completely balance each other out, Corey is the first to admit that I am a constant reminder in his life to be more patient and kind, and I completely believe I would not be as driven as I am today without his inspiration.
We went on our first date at the $1.50 theatre in Raleigh and saw "No Strings Attached", which was a bit ironic since we made it official shortly after.
The first half of our relationship was spent apart. For a little over 3 years I lived in Charlotte and he lived in Raleigh while we were both in graduate school, so there were MANY drives back and forth between the two locations, but I an convinced that our relationship is much stronger today because we allowed ourselves to grow as individuals and accomplish all of our own goals while supporting each other through school. Finally, I finished school and moved to Raleigh for the next 3 years while Corey finished his doctorate, and most recently we moved to Baltimore, MD for Coreys job.
